Understanding the Meaning and Use of Cookies and Web Beacons

What does a cookie do? Simply, a cookie is a small text file that contains a string of alphanumeric characters that we use to help manage the website. There are two types of “cookies.” A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. A session cookie is typically erased when you close your Internet Browser at the end of your web session. For example, our cookies are linked to your Personal Identifiable Information which enables us to customize your user experience. While a session cookie may be erased when you close your Internet Browser, a persistent cookie can be removed when you exercise the option to delete them which is usually contained within your Internet browser help file. The use of cookies is industry standard so your browser may be set to accept cookies. If you would prefer not to accept cookies, you can alter the configuration of your browser to reject all cookies or some cookies. Note, if you reject certain cookies, you may not be able to access all of our Website features.

The use of cookies by our trusted partners, affiliates or tracking utility companies as well as service providers is not covered by our privacy statement. Why? Simply because we do not have access or control over these cookies. On the other hand, our trusted partners, affiliates or service providers including tracking companies may use persistent cookies for purposes of analyzing user traffic trends or interests and selection of ads or marketing messages as may appear on a website page. We do not unite the information obtained by you on the website to third party cookies. Your information is limited to your use and only your use.

What does a web beacon do? Web beacons are typically small strings of code that provide the means for delivering a graphic image on a web page or in an email message for the purpose of transferring data. Web beacons are often times used to enable us to improve our insight of website traffic, responses to offers and/or promotional campaigns offered by a third party and even visitor behavior. Web beacons also help us to supplement our server logs and various other methods of traffic, use and interests including response measurements.  From time to time, the website may apply web beacons provided by other companies. The information they collect is limited to the extent indicated above and for the same purpose. We do not, under any circumstance, store any of your personal data or PII in web beacons.

What about images and scripts on your end product unit or computer?

While our third party trusted partners may utilize clear gifs (i.e. Web Beacons/Pixels), images as well as scripts in order to help them to better manage traffic sent to our website, we do not link or connect the Non-Personal Identifiable Information to your personal data or PII. Your PII data is your property and belongs to you and you alone.
